This year’s MESIF — the Middle East Sports Investment Forum — brought together ministries, investors, venue operators, and technology providers to discuss how sport in the region is evolving. As a sponsor, Rhenac took part in the conversations and shared updates on our work in turf technology.
Shared Direction for the Future
One of the key moments for us during MESIF was signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia (MISA), SportYard, and Al Waseel Global Sport City.
The agreement, titled:
“Launching Rhenac CLS Natural Sunlight Replication Turf Technology in Saudi Arabia as the Regional Launchpad – Proven at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium,”
sets out our shared intention to introduce CLS technology in Saudi Arabia and explore its applications across future sports projects.
Represented by Mr Basim K. Ibrahim, Sports Investment Director, MISA; Mr Ibrahim Alaidaros, CEO, SportYard; Mr Saad Alruwaished, Owner, Al Waseel Group (AWG); and Horst Theisen, CEO, Rhenac — the partners came together to formalise this strategic cooperation.

In addition to the signing, Horst Theisen gave a presentation on the latest developments in turf maintenance technology — from data-led lighting to the benefits of full-spectrum LED systems. The session focused on practical challenges faced by stadiums and training grounds, and how new tools can help improve pitch performance and recovery.
Growing Together
We’re grateful to the Ministry of Sport, MISA, Sela, and everyone involved in MESIF for creating an environment that encourages open discussion and genuine collaboration.
The forum continues to be an important meeting point for organisations shaping the future of sport across the Middle East.
